I have always tried to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Incorporating a good exercise regimen and a sensible diet has always been important to me. One day after receiving a less than encouraging bone density report, I knew that I needed to do more than just walk and other moderate exercises; I knew I needed a more comprehensive approach to overall conditioning. After reviewing the different alternatives and options, I decided Pilates could possibly provide what I thought would be best for me. I began taking Pilates classes in 2004 to improve my strength, flexibility and general posture. After several months of classes I realized I finally found an exercise method that I loved and was continually challenged by.
One year ago in June, as I was getting ready to travel to my daughter’s graduation from grad school and to attend to final details of her upcoming wedding, I realized I wasn’t feeling as good as usuual. My husband convinced me that I should go to my doctor just to be on the safe side because it was going to be a long flight and a very busy trip.
