Wordpress is an open source (read, f-r-e-e) website creation and management tool. It lets you easily manage a website with no coding skills at all. If at any point you decide to redesign your website (pick a different theme for it) then all of your content will stay intact. No need to move your content or start from scratch. You can also use unlimited free plugins that let you extend your website with new features. - You need to have your own hosting provider in order to use PilatesFLOW template. Template documentation comes with detailed videos of how to set up your domain and your hosting through our preferred partner – GreenGeeks hosting. The whole year of website hosting with them will run you only around $50.

PilatesFLOW Setup
- Hosting and WordPress setup.
PilatesFLOW is a template designed to work on any hosting provider. You need to have your own domain and a hosting account in order to setup this template. The following two videos feature steps needed to set up your website through GreenGeeks – our preferred hosting provider. Please save your WordPress login credentials in a safe place.
- Installing/Updating PilatesFLOW template.
Download PilatesFLOW template IMPORTANT: WordPress lets you install a theme only in a zipped format. If you are downloading the theme using Safari browser then by default Safari will unzip the folder and you will not be able to install the theme. To prevent Safari from unzipping your theme folder please:
1. Go to Safari-> Preferences.
2. Choose “General” tab.
3. Uncheck the box “Open “safe” files after downloading” at the bottom.Video 3. Installing/Updating PilatesFLOW Theme
You can log into your WordPress admin dashboard by going to www.YOURDOMAIN.COM/wp-login.php (replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with your website address.)
To install Pilates Flow template for the first time:
Navigate to Appearance -> Themes and click on Add New -> Upload Theme. Choose pilates-flow.zip file that you have just downloaded to your computer and upload the theme.Once the theme is uploaded click “Activate.”
To update Plates Flow theme to the most current version
Navigate to Appearance -> Themes and activate any of the default WordPress themes.Click “Theme Details” on the Pilates Flow template. In the bottom right corner click “Delete.” Don’t worry, all of your theme settings and information will be preserved.
Click on Add New -> Upload Theme. Choose pilates-flow.zip file that you have just downloaded to your computer and upload the theme.
Once the theme is uploaded click “Activate.”
- Adding Pages and Content Blocks
The first step in configuring your website is adding pages that you will use on your website. PilatesFLOW template is a single page template so limit the number of pages that you would like to use only to the most important ones.Video 4. Adding Pages
Create page Home and leave its content blank. Choose template ‘One Page Site.’ This page will be used as your home page.
Create pages that will be displayed in this single page layout. Consider adding pages like About, Services and Packages or Classes, Pilates Benefits, Contact.
Choose Page Template ‘Front Page Block’ and set the Order of the pages to control position of this page block on the front page. 0 corresponds to the very first block that will be displayed at the top of the page.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the content ready right away. You can edit these pages and rename them later on. - Configuring the Front Page

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize. Click on the Website Layout -> Homepage Layout panel. Choose ‘A static page’ under Homepage Preferences. Under Select Page to Use as a Single Page Layout from the dropdown menu select page Home (that uses ‘One Page Site’ page template.)
Video 5a. Switching from Single page to Multi Page Layout
In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize. Click on the Website Layout -> Website Layout and choose Multi Page Layout.
The front page can still use Front Page blocks to display content but the top menu will be linking to individual pages instead of the sections of the front page. In the “Menus” panel of the Customizer choose “Primary Menu” to create a new menu and add single pages to it. - Setting Up Studio (Site) Details

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Studio Details panel. You can change the name of your website, tagline as well as upload a logo in this section.

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Header Styles -> Header Image panel.
PilatesFLOW template will supports a header image with the dimensions 1900 × 1267 pixels. Smaller images will be stretched out and larger images will be cropped to fit the space. Maximum upload size for WordPress is 2 Mb. - Change Header Text and Color

- Customizing Fonts
PilatesFLOW supports almost unlimited typography options. You can choose any of the Google fonts to use on your website. Choose a font from the dropdown menu and preview it live in the Customizer window to find a perfect fit for your website. View all Google fonts here.Video 10. Typography Settings
In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Typography Settings panel.

Social accounts can be added to the footer section of the website. In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Social Section in the Footer panel.
- Adding Featured Area and Footer Widgets
Widgets are small blocks that perform specific functions on a WordPress website. Widgets can be added to widget-ready sections of your website. PilatesFlow supports following widget areas:
*Sidebar (will be displayed on Blog Post Pages)
*Featured Area (displayed underneath the header image)

There are two ways to configure widgets on your website.
1. In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Widgets panel. Please note that Sidebar widget area will be visible ONLY when you are previewing one of the blog post pages.
2. In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Widgets. You can drag and drop various widgets to the available widget areas. - Configuring Menus
Menu bar will be added automatically to your website when you create a one page layout. If you would like to add more pages that will NOT be displayed on the Front Page or you are planning to write a blog then you need to setup another menu to be displayed on those pages.Video 14. Menu Setup
In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance->Customize and click on the Menus panel. Single Page Menu will be used automatically for a single page layout, no need to customize it. Primary Menu will be used on all other pages of your website.
Primary Menu will also be used if you choose Multi Page Layout in the Website Layout panel.
- Installing Essential Plugins
Plugins are ways to extend and add to the functionality that already exists in WordPress and in your PilatesFLOW theme. Plugins then offer custom functions and features so that each user can tailor their site to their specific needs. There are 4 plugins that are recommended to be used with PilatesFLOW theme.Video 15. Contact Form 7 – used to display a contact form on your website.
Bootstrap Shortcodes – adds design elements like buttons, columns, highlighted text etc to the default WordPress text editor.
Black Studio TinyMCE Widget (optional) – adds a new widget with visual text editor.
WordPress SEO (not mentioned in the video, optional) – optimize your website for search engines. - Formatting Pages

Blogs are a great way to share new content with your website visitors and to improve your website rankings in search engines. You can share health tips, post short exercise videos or simply share your observations that will be relevant for your website visitors.Video 20. Adding a Blog
- Adding Studio Features/Signature Classes to the front page

Starting from version 2.0. PilatesFlow template supports Studio Features that can be displayed on the front page. This content block can be used to display signature classes, teacher training offered at the studio, Pilates benefits, extra services offered at the studio etc.
A maximum of 8 Studio Features will be displayed on the front page of the website.
In your WordPress admin panel navigate to Studio Features -> Add New. Enter the title and short description. Use the Links section in order to link to external pages (e.g. booking software) or individual pages of your website. Add high quality featured image to be used for each item. Use Order field to set the order in which elements will appear in the grid (0 being the very first element.)In order to display Studio Features in a page navigate to Pages. Create a new page or edit an existing one. Choose Front Page Block page template. Choose Features Grid among the display options. Please note that you can add more content that will be displayed BEFORE the grid.
