What body part jumps to your mind when you are thinking about the best looking bikini body?
You are probably thinking about legs and thighs, buns and tummies. But rarely, or so rarely, do we think about our arms and back.
First of all, strong arms are important for everyday life. Strong back is essential for everyday life. Second of all, toned upper body looks gorgeous in a bathing suit. Stop here for a second and think, when you are looking at somebody, what body parts do you notice first? You probably pay attention to the person’s face and his/her upper body first because that’s where your gaze falls naturally. Not the stomach. Not the legs. Not the rear end.
No matter what your motivation is, working on your upper body is important. And Pilates is the best way to get those sexy shoulders, toned arms (no bat wings flapping around behind you) and an amazingly strong back.
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates as a form of exercise for MEN (not any men, but German veterans during World War I.) Of course, upper body focus was important for that population so a lot of classical Pilates exercises emphasize shoulder stability and upper body strength that is achieved through the use of your own body weight (no weights or bands required!)
Pilates for Arms and Back is a 20 minute Pilates video that takes modern twist on the classical Pilates exercises. Pilates is a whole-body workout so you will be engaging your core and activating your leg muscles during the next 20 minutes. As always, go at your own pace and listen to your body.
Enjoy and share!
